Honey and Turpentine Vs The Same Problem Situation

12 Comments on Honey and Turpentine Vs The Same Problem Situation

I’m pretty stoked for what’s next here – because, y’know, in order to look for these bandmates, we’ll have to visit some new locations and see more of this city.

(I was also moderately stoked to draw everyone as simplified little checklist icons.)

This would make the cutest point and click adventure game!

I actually wish, wish, wish I had the time to make some kind of point and click BVB adventure game using my pixel designs! http://kathmachine.tumblr.com/post/92511765271/so-i-want-to-get-back-into-doing-more-pixel

I have heard good things about Adventure Game Studio for putting point’n’click games together quickly and without lots of programming skill.

I still want them to form a super group. Dom doing her precision strikes keeping time, Coco free floating the bottom harmonies above her, Foxy pounding out the beat like some great ancient goddess of thunder, Honey and Turpentine taking turns leading the vocals while the other does scat/screaming/vocalise and finally Arsenic weaving in and out of the storm with ethereal guitar melodies.
On a different note- Can you tell that I spend entirely too much time imagining how your bands sound?

What about Cherry and Zero?

Greg Taylor on October 8, 2015 @ 7:53 pm

Zero was described in the second comic as a barely adequate drummer so I thought I would leave him out.
I seem to remember that Cherry also plays the oboe? Or was that Coco? Oboe would be very cool to the overall sound.
Finally, my experience in weird jazz of the last fifty years of listening has taught me that there is plenty of musical space for two bassists but it is a rare pair of drummers that can coexist. Or is this all too serious?

Actually, I’m pretty sure King Crimson has two drummers now

Amanda Massara on October 10, 2015 @ 10:55 pm

Adam and the Ants used to have two drummers for their ‘Burundi’ style drumming.
Yes, I’m that old!

Somehow I’m thinking that they’ll run into members of the other’s band and have to decide if they want to be nice and tell them, or ruthless and send them in the wrong direction.

… or shanghai them into some sort of crazy mix n’ match band.

Part of me wanted them to do a duet…

I really thought this storyline would be Honey and Turpentine having to do this show together, but then I guess there wouldn’t be the small checklist icons…

Maybe next time they could make some sort of bet instead of just glaring at each other. Like here
they could have wagered that the loser will have to sit in with the winner’s band.
And I concede to the counterexamples of Chris and Amanda.
