Honey Vs. Turpentine: QUIZ EDITION

Aaaand, we’re back! It’s pretty obvious how much I love expanding on this world of alt-universe bands and their discographies. I meant for this record-nerdy store clerk to get a name in this one, but…nope, didn’t fit in.

…Turpentine and Arsenic have never admitted to each other how much they both independently kinda love Space Wizard Awakens in a way that’s not even half ironic.

Hmm, the record clerk could be wearing a name tag, that would be an easy way to get a name into the comic.
However, you’d like to think that the owner of a cool record store would not require employees to wear name tags, or if so that the employees would “forget” to wear them.
Worst case scenario, wear name tags of former employees “I get to be Phyllis today!”

The clerk’s gender is ambiguous, but if she’s a woman, I vote for “Sadie”. Just strikes me as an appropriate name.

I really want to know the track list for SPACE WIZARD AWAKENS and what the titles of other DREAM VOYAGE albums are, like if this is their one foray into concepts or just the crest in the wave of a long and storied career of such albums!

It’s fun to imagine that the actual owner of the record store is a nice person with cats who pops out of a back office and is like “hey
_____? Quit going rogue on these girls, okay? Also could you take down that Help Wanted flyer? The new hire starts Tuesday”

This city seems disproportionately melancholy in temperament and female in populous, which actually seems more believable and natural to me. All through school, university, work and generally growing up in my family and with my friends that description just seems to work. I almost feel sorry for people that are surrounded by boys and boy culture, that would be a nightmare.

This seems basically accurate to how this comic is set in a world filtered through my brain and aesthetics, and for the most part it’s just really disinterested in all things masculine.
