Turpentine trying to look cool and tough when her little heart is going pitter-pat is so adorable.

Oh, gosh. I wish I could gay anytime I wanted too. These 2 are adorable dorks.

Honey’s realization that SHE IS ALLOWED to take the initiative is giving me LIFE.

Phasma Felis on December 5, 2016 @ 3:04 pm

It’s interesting that Honey actually took the initiative to begin with. They were both totally throwing sparks everywhere sitting on the stage the previous night, but it was Honey who took Turpentine’s hand, and Honey who basically said “hey talking is great but let’s make out some more” after their first kiss.

Turpentine has more experience with Big Gay Sexytimes, but Honey is actually really proactive as a person, and (outside of the one big obvious Denial Zone) really into thinking and talking about her feelings. Turpentine is still hung up on being too cool to care about things, and she kinda doesn’t quite know what to do with Actual Feelings (as when she stomped out of the party last night). Now that Honey is actively facing her sexuality, I think she’s actually gonna turn out to be the assertive one.

Also they’re totally gonna wind up riding horses on a beach, with Honey having paroxysms of ecstasy and Turpentine going OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING WHAT IS THIS TERRIFYING ANIMAL

YESSSSSSS I love this image.

oh, you mean like me on the pony ride when i was a tiny tot? “I can feel its BONES moving”…

i’m told i started sliding off the pony and they had to stop the ride and remove me

Panel 5 (“We can gay any way we want!) is just begging to be put on a tee shirt.

touzen on December 6, 2016 @ 10:37 pm

It’s right up there with “oh my gosh, y’all are lesbians!” for top Honey Hart Reactions

touzen on December 6, 2016 @ 10:33 pm Reply

The little hand kiss!! Now THAT is how you charm a lady!!

Also, the first panel has me wondering, is one of them taller than the other? I don’t think we’ve ever seen a height accurate line-up or anything…do they have official heights?

Kathleen on December 10, 2016 @ 1:51 pm

It’s pretty inconsistent, and one of my regrets with this whole lineup of character designs is that I didn’t establish more interesting height differences at the beginning!
Basically, Honey and Turpentine are around the same height – and the Vol 1. book has Turpentine’s police mugshot listing her as 5’6″

W…where did Honey Hart get that guitar?

Where did it go when she was done with it?

Yay! Thank you! I’m so glad to hear that they arrived.

Can I just say I love love love how butch and femme are totally orthogonal to tough and sweet in this comic. Love Honey Hart realizing there’s no reason she can’t ask a cute girl out.

honestly if you take out the speech balloons and put “We can gay any way we want” as like a banner scroll underneath it, that panel would make a killer tattoo
