Finally, our drummer girl gets to answer some mail!

One week left for the BVB Volume 2, Kickstarter, y’all! Thank you so much – and there’s still time to get in on this for books, stickers, amazing kickstarter-exclusive guest artist postcards, and helping make the new book happen AND reprinting Volume 1! I know not everyone’s able to back it, and that’s just fine – I’m blown away by all the support you’ve shown me for these comics over the years, from buyin’ stuff, to cosplay, to sharing it with friends, to commenting (and sending in these mail questions, too!) I love you all so much, and I wouldn’t have gotten this far without you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This one makes me so happy! Foxy is probably my favorite character- but then again I’m biased because I’m also a drummer. It’s just so nice to see a FEMALE. DRUMMER.

I’m about as white, cishet as they come and i love this comic. I just binged the whole thing and it is the cutest. I really hope Honey’s bandmates can accept this new relationship.

I predict the next cross-band romance is Foxy and Coco, and their couple name is “Co-fy.”

So I discovered this comic in a forum thread, and I gotta say I really think its pretty darn keen! I’ve been suggesting it all week to my friends with similarly inclined interests. But I do have question. We know New Pacific City is somewhere on the west coast. Honey Hart, however, she uses y’all, fellas and other terms that make me think she has some sort of southern accent. Is that the case? Am I reading too much into her word choice?

Thanks! That wasn’t the intention, but actually a LOT of people have told me that they read her with a southern accent, and I can see it. I imagine her with a voice sort of like an old movie, and “y’all”, etc, as part of the same cute stylized retro vocabulary as gosh/darn/heck

While I know the main vocalist style and inspiration behind Turpentine and Foxy is Hole/Courtney Love, I keep picturing in my head Reba from Code Orange, especially the more melodic parts of “Only One Way” where Reba can keep pace with the guys in the band. Like right now I’m hearing the industrial remix of Only1 at the sec.
