Foes Vs. A Moment On Common Ground

This one is such a tease! (also: sorry again for missing an update last week.)

I had fun with this longer form episode, but I’m also kinda delighted to be wrapping it up so that I can do some shorter bits. For instance, it’s been so long since the last mailbag comic — and you guys have sent in some really good questions.

Oh yeah — in case you missed it on the facebook page, I made this set of pixelly BVB characters, and kind of dug how they turned out.

Third panel is awesome, it looks great too. But while Poisoned Sweet gets closer they still have ways to go guess thats what they call a hook.

Aww. Look at them being all cute and oblivious. Turp is still bleeding pretty good, huh? At least it matches her blush. ;p

I’d say they’re oblivious that it’s mutual, but for both of them individually there’s some awareness of awkward feelings!

DAMN IT, I just realized I know have to wait a whole WEEK for my next dose…this is what I hate about webcomics.

Ha ha, it’s a love/hate/love thing being on the creator side. It’d be cool to do them more often, and I love that there are people into it enough to want more…but there’s that whole Outside World Life thing, and I like the process of working on them enough to not want to rush it.
If I got to choose the outcome of, say, a year of my life doing comics, I’d rather have only five that I think are my *best ever* rather than a hundred I’m lukewarm about. This is also assuming some devil’s bargain where these are the only options.

I appreciate that sentiment, creator. I’m not sure which I prefer…I think I could take a hundred as long as Honey and Turp are making out somewhere in there.
Just kidding.

Now I’m imagining this going horribly wrong: I do hundreds and hundreds of comics really rapidly, and it gradually becomes this unrecognizable newspaper-style comic strip where Honey and Turpentine are married and have fights about who didn’t do chores around the house (it is always Turpentine), and the artwork’s all cut and pasted, and nobody ever mentions music or bands.
They make out sometimes, though.

That made me LAWL. Look at that, you just made comedic gold without even TRYING. I’m certain you can spit out hundreds of fairly-quality strips this year.

A whole camp just for first aid, to make sure it’s REALLY LEARNED RIGHT

That was the part that made this one work for me – it’s not just that she learned first aid at something normal like scout camp or swimming…it’s this weirdly specific thing, like how she took ham radio lessons. She just wants to do good deeds, and she considers herself uniquely qualified to help with a bloody nose!

Yeah, I figured they had at least SOME idea by now, but it’s probably going to take something really drastic to get them to believe it’s mutual.

I wouldn’t put it past one of them to find out just about directly and assume the other found out about their little crush and is making fun of them or something romance-comedy-ish like that. XD

come to think of it they do kinda have a glinda/elphaba vibe already what with the happy pink sunshine and the dark-haired disillusionment…
