Mostly I am shocked that Honey has so much black in her wardrobe.

She may have bought this outfit (and the raincloud shirt she was wearing earlier) specifically to wear in Melancholy Injured Mode.

Whoa there. Honey Hart may have released some tension but it is only building up for the audience. Love seeing these different facets of these characters. And the characters seem to be enjoying it too.

It’s been fun to do this story where traits that Honey and Turpentine have in an *underneath* sort of way come full force to the surface.

I love this comic so much. Every time there’s a song I just want to hear it out loud. And this arc has given me that feeling the most (well, not true, Tell It to the Cat is the song from the comic I want to hear the most).

There’s absolutely nobody in-universe who doesn’t know that Turpentine is gay as heck at this point! She DOES usually try to hide — at least a little — that’s she’s got a thing for Honey, tho…

One day there will be a soundtrack with all these songs and I will play them over and over until my turn-table melts. Love, Dark Honey, and how the tension is building. It felt like an eternity before I got to this page and it was worth every minute. I’m dieing to see what happens next.

I wanted her to have HEART MESH SLEEVES so badly that I just consciously Didn’t Even Care how they’d be made in real life and if it’d even work. Somehow. Some good in-universe fishnet/mesh/textile designer made this work Somehow.

I really wanna make something like that. I’m thinking waxed or plasticized bobbin lace type thing or maybe it’s just rubber/a whole bunch of sillybands.

Teeny tiny Honey Hart screeching “EEEAAAAA” while her band mates look on in horror might just be my favorite panel so far.

She has to build up to it a little, starting with EEEE before going full AAAA!

I cannot convey to you the delight I feel whenever I find a new comic posting from you. The Turp-Honey dynamic is the best web comic relationship ever.
I humbly beseech one or more of the following:
A. A Honey-Turp acoutic duet.
B. Turp waking up one day with her hair stuck in Honey’s sweet little doo.
C. More realistically, I want a conversation between the two of them now where they somehow acknowledge each other’s set.
Finally, a question. In the last few panels it looks as if Honey shakes the blahs/blues out of her hair and it springs back to its usual happy bouyant look. Is true, no? Or am I imagining it?

Oh, yeah, totally! Honey has a secret-ish appreciation in her heart for all things gothy.

I’ve also always thought that, if Mascara Masque is basically Siouxsie Sioux, she’s like an influential pioneering figure at least a generation older, with a loooong discography, …and the two of them are particularly into different eras — the earlier, rawer, punkier stuff vs. the later shimmery, synthier, poppier stuff.

I’m making the same face Turpentine is making in the eighth panel. I think I just swooned a bit over a comic character. Excuse me while I go reevaluate my life situations and some lingering questions from my teenage years.

Have you ever thought about doing a guest comic? Rosalarian of Meaty Yogurt hurt her hand, so can’t draw for awhile and is looking for guest submissions.
When you used to have webcomics links on your site, that’s how I found out about MY. I bet you could do a kick-a** MY comic, about punk rock Jackie, or something on that vein. Would be a way for new readers to discover the delights of BVB 🙂

My god, i have been going through the comic from the start tonight and I was thinking from the previous hints that I really wanted to see what Honey’s more melancholy songs might be like and here it is. Tis great 😀

I think this might be one of my favorite pages in the whole comic that I always like to linger on whenever I reread this… Its showing us a side of Honey that we never get to see because she really tries to hide it away and pretend that everything’s ok all the time! That, plus her being in the closet… man, she goes through a lot, she needed to let it all out! And we can so see that darkness within her here–such incredible character development! And, omg her and Turpentine’s dynamic is just my fave thing ever. So incredible.
