I was vaaaaaaguely thinking about this song while writing DIRT/MUD, and considering whether Turpentine would be in favor or against doing a song that just keeps going on and on for an absurd length of time.

Turp’s stomach crease makes me irrationally happy. Sooommeeebody knows how to draw a realistic female stomach

This is actually really important to me! I don’t want to draw the sort of comics where bodies (ladies especially) seem kind of like plastic dolls, and don’t do normal stuff like squish and fold depending on the pose.

I was wincing way before she fell off the stage. Looking at her little acrobatic jumps and those high heel boots, I could feel my heels and arches screaming in misery. I had a pair and tried to sprint a short distance. Heck of a way to sprain a heel.

I really want Turpentines skull shirt.

I was specifically thinking about that when I wrote this— like, all the dozens of times I’ve drawn her jumping around in her platform boots, just steady like a mountain goat. Even the best of us in heels can’t go forever without an occasional misstep!
(also, I speak as someone who once sprained an ankle dancing at a gay bar on new year’s eve)

I… had a BvB dream last night :0

The bands switched clothes and instruments and tried to mimic each others style, I guess in an “anything you can do I can better” type challenge?

The Sourhearts somehow managed to only be able to make country songs, to Turpentine’s displeasure, while the Candyballs mostly nailed the instrumental side, but got kind of confused about the whole dark and angsty lyrics thing and ended up singing about baths? But like, angry baths.

3. When reading the description, I saw it in my head as Honey having this dream, then waking up and feigning the whole ‘What a nightmare!’ but being really delighted by the idea of a spontaneous “band crossover” challenge because it’s like a fun collaboration in a way.

There’s something especially perfect about the idea that the Sourballs’ attempt to do something cheerful-sounding would just keep turning into, like, country hoedown music, and Turpentine would get mad and go WAIT, STOP, WHAT THE HECK IS THIS.

Just wanted to say that I finally got my BVB book and Turpentine plush from the Kickstarter, and they’re both incredibly beautiful, well worth the wait.

Also, do you watch Brooklyn Nine Nine? I feel like Gina and Damon Celestial are spiritual cousins.
