Oh no. Oh noooo. And poor Loyal Horse, too.
In other news: a lot of my comics friends were in Seattle at Emerald City this past weekend, and I got kind of jealous wishing I would’ve gone – especially since I could’ve seen this great Turpentine and Arsenic cosplay! Oh my god! This is, I think, the third confirmed instance that I know of of people dressing up as Band Vs. Band, and I’ve heard rumors of others planning it…and this is so completely magical. It means so much to me that people like my comics and my characters. You’re all awesome.
Oh, Honey Hart. Oh nooo.
This is pretty core to her character, I think — the flipside of her genuine OPTIMISM AND ENTHUSIASM and sentimentality is that she kinda has secret deep wells of pent-up melancholy…and it’s not easy for some frustration or disappointment to really shake her up, but when it does it hits pretty hard.
Alternately: The Bands Vs. Each Other In Aesthetic Juxtaposition, Since That’s Kinda Their Whole Thing And All.
(and why yes, there were some funny-looking reference selfies behind the scenes for this one.)
Honey Hart: you are tons of fun to draw.
(…And if you’ve been following my Tumblr or Twitter over the past few months, you may be aware that this ceiling joke is HORRIBLY AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL.)
I’m back, just in time for one of my favorite BVB holiday traditions! Follow my Tumblr this week (or Twitter or Facebook) for a few more valentines, and these ones as separate files for convenient valentinin’.
(Worst-kept secret: Sometimes I play like I’m bitter and cynical and Hate Valentine’s Day, buuuuut I’m actually a hopeless romantic.)
