Bands Vs. Formal Education

12 Comments on Bands Vs. Formal Education

Domme can do an impromptu talk on a subject at pretty short notice, but participating In Song is a little farther from her comfort zone. I think I’ve only shown her doing singing-backup for Turpentine once, with one line, less than ten comics from the beginning.

YOU KNOW I AM ON TENTERHOOKS ABOUT WHAT IS TO FOLLOW RIGHT

(also: rare starless cherry???)

Kathleen on July 21, 2014 @ 11:51 am

I can imagine some kind of chart of how often each of these characters appears without their stage makeup or accessories — and my guess would be that Starless Cherry is more common than Eyemakeupless Foxy, Hatless Coco, and Wingless Damon.

love that Domme’s shirt has the zinester abbreviation of yr instead of ur on it. feels very nice

Kathleen on July 21, 2014 @ 11:52 am

“yr” just seems aesthetically correct to me all the time, and I was thinking this may be an album title or something in this universe.

I’m a 22 year old corp-goth genderqueer junior university lecturer in an anthropology/sociology/media faculty that specialises in the historical and contemporary representation of the identity and ideals of a repressed minority (colonised peoples; but the postmodern theories aren’t dissimilar to those for feminist and gender studies, or counter cultural studies) by the mainstream. And it makes me so happy whenever Dommie gets to talk about school. I can’t remember if I said this before?

Yeah! I think you’ve mentioned at least some of this before…and I love that people relate to Domme. I like her a lot, and I don’t think I fully realized at first how much she was inspired by various real people I’ve met and known. She also inherited some of my traits like just about all of my characters did (including the Iconic Haircut I had for like five years in black)…and, though I decided not to do grad school, I’ve spent a hell of a lot of time in university settings.

I would just like to say that Honey Hart looks particularly adorable in the last panel. Also, that I am completely head over heels for Domme.

Thanks! I liked the idea of doing something where the two of them interact directly and have a little bit of common ground, since their personalities are so different.

I think all Domme has to do is lay down the bass line, and the words will follow.

Kathleen on July 22, 2014 @ 1:32 am

Oh, absolutely. She just needs that bass groove.

Domme makes me so fricking happy you don’t even know. Thank you for the inclusion of her in this comic, and how nonchalant her coming out as trans was. I’m non binary and love her to bits. Can i friend marry her

Kathleen on December 7, 2015 @ 7:33 pm

Aw, hey – I’m glad to hear it, & glad you like her!
